Hope Deferred

Hope Deferred

Proverbs 13:12 – Hope deferred makes the heart faint, but when the desire cometh it is a tree of life.

“Expectation prolonged makes the mind weak, but when the desire comes it is a TREE of life.”

Luke 15:4, 8 – Go After & Seek Diligently

As we have been discussing this topic of wholeness, I want you to know that returning to a place of wholeness is a trek of endurance. Going after that which is lost, seeking diligently until it is found, will not feel exciting. It requires working towards achieving a particular goal as a day by day endeavor. We spoke about recognition, illumination, and sweeping the house as being stages of rediscovering that which was lost.

It really is about desiring to walk into your God given Destiny as a Believer. Every day will not be filled with thrills or even challenges. Some days are just regular days. But when you are possessed with the idea of having fullness and not partiality, wholeness and not being incomplete, 100 and not the 99, then the passion for what will be found, will also unearth a “who” will be found as well.

Proverbs 13:12 – Hope deferred makes the heart faint, but when the desire cometh it is a tree of life.

We use the word “IF” to introduce a possible or unreal situation or condition. We use the “WHEN” as to refer to the time of a future situation or condition that we are certain of. Please note it does not say, “if the desire cometh…but instead it read WHEN the desire cometh.

In both parables of Luke 15:5 – and when he hath found it he layeth on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Luke 15:9 – and when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and neighbors together, saying Rejoice –

Again, not if, but when! Convince the mind and emotions that it is a “matter of time”, and not of probability.  When we understand that there is a “When” and not probability, then we learn to fix our thoughts on the expectation of receiving Desire in its maturity, and we will not accept anything less than that level of blessings.  The TREE is not a shrub. It is a mature blessing.

Remember, “When the Desire comes”. Desire is to have a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen. What is that something? What are you hoping for? What does that “something” look like?

Wishing tends to embrace aspiration without initiation. We learned that the Kingdom of God is seized by the Initiators. People that go beyond just wishing, but actual energetic initiators.

Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

GODS WORD – Mat 11:12 From the time of John the Baptizer until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful people have been seizing it. The energetic and active have been laying seize to it or attaching themselves to the ‘momentum’ of it.

Attach to advancement and not just movement. The kingdom of God is about advancement; religion is about routine. Both are means of movement, but movement doesn’t mean progression.

The Kingdom is like a Train and religion is like a carousel. One provides destination, the other makes dizzy by revisiting the same places spiritually.

Experience and Education

Experience and education is of the kingdom. (1 sam 30 – who will listen to you?)

Experience without education, creates cycles without growth.  (ever learning but unable to come to the truth)

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (always learning, but never coming to conclusion of the truth)

Write the Vision

In both parables I want to highlight the necessity of “going after & seeking diligently” that which is lost. Movement is critical to Destiny. When we just read proverbs, notice that it doesn’t give resolution to what to do with a faint heart. “Hope Deferred makes the heart faint, but when the desire cometh it is a tree of life.”

Remember recognition is simply the principle of sight (Hab 1:1 – The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.)

Habukkuh had to “see” that there was a burden; a difficulty, something grievous, something wearisome, something oppressive happening to people.

We in like manner, must begin with the Burden “something heavy, something wearisome, and something oppressive” happening in our lives that we see that does not reflect wholeness. Just as the man with the shepherd had to see that there were 100 sheep, and now there are only 99, and the woman had to see that there was 10 coins, and now only 9 remain.

Not only did he have a burden by something he saw (recognition), but also sent his complaint unto the proper person (the Father), and not to just persons that would give ear to him; which is called gossip.

Quite often we have Burden from what we see that is not right in our lives, or even in the lives of others, but we don’t seek diligently for wisdom or an answer, but instead choose people that lack the spiritual maturity to hear the “complaint”. Remember in the parables of Luke 15 that she lit a candle, because she could not find what was lost in the dark.

Going after and seeking diligently is not just physical, but mentally a state of mind. Habakkuk sought for an answer to the burden he seen. Habakkuk 2:1 says that the prophet aligned himself to hear what God would answer. This is praying for a solution.

Now remember we are talking about what we DO at the sign of a Faint heart and the “BUT WHEN”, of Proverbs 13:12 – Hope Deferred makes the heart faint, but when the desire cometh it is a Tree of Life. What we DO while we wait for the answer or manifestation?

We first must administer healing to the sickness or faintness of heart by encouraging ourselves in the Lord. 1 Samuel 30:6 – and David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord “his” God.

  1. David encouraged his heart in the Lord. This encouragement means that he strengthened, cured, and repaired his heart. David encouraged himself in the power and providence of God. He recalled the Promises of God and Gods Faithfulness in keeping them.
  2. David encouraged his heart in the Lord by remembering that this was the LORD his God. He remembered the covenant relation to God that he was in. He strengthened his heart or mind with thinking on the grace, mercy and goodness of God from former experiences, and how God would always show up in some way or another and work out a way out of no way.
  3. David encouraged himself by strengthening his mind of the Lord; the Self Existent One is his Supreme God.

There are times in life where the only thing we need to do is strengthen our heart or mind by reminding ourselves that our Father is the Self Existent One. He Exists! This is critical to understanding pressures, deadlines, and the strengthening of our heart while we wait. My Father, My God – EXISTS during my times of pressures, He EXISTS during my deadlines, and He EXISTS, while I am waiting for things to turn around in my favor. He is the Self Existent One. I am not alone.

Again; what do we DO while we wait for the answer or manifestation?

  • We strengthen our heart through praying for solution.
  • We strengthen our heart by remembering God’s Power and Faithfulness
  • We strengthen our heart by remembering the Covenant Promises
  • We strengthen our heart by knowing that we are not alone. Our Father-Exists in it with me.

I would like to also add that when we pray for resolution, that we align ourselves to hear. Hab 2:1 says that the prophet Habakkuk aligned himself into a position to hear what God will answer unto him.

Aligning ourselves to hear as Habakkuk did, “I will stand upon my watch, I will set myself upon the tower, and I will watch to see what He will say unto me. Please note the mental posture of Habakkuk.

I will stand upon my watch…I will set me upon the tower, and I will watch to see what He (God) will say unto me…

Alignment is a correction of posture. Habakkuk said that he will “stand” upon my watch. One of the Hebraic definitions of stand is to “endure”. Habakkuk had the mental fortitude to “endure” as a way of waiting for his answer from the Lord.

This is a critical principle, because many are simply disgruntled believers, full of complaints, full of burdens, but unwilling to align to hear what the answer of the Lord is.

The enemy loves when we don’t seek or go after resolution in our prayers. The enemy tries to imply to our minds that there is no resolve, no exit, and no hope. In the midst of this kind of mindset, he sends distracting, disgruntled people into our path to create a culture of bitterness, gossip and disloyalty to God, our calling, kingdom expansion and increase, by encouraging misalignment.

We must pray for resolution. Pray and align yourself to hear “what he will say unto me”. Through seeking and going after wisdom in prayer, we will find the Voice of the Self Existent One, speaking wisdom into our hearts. You will know that it is the Father, because it will be a well-defined Voice of unmistakable direction, which completely has no fears attached to it.

The Voice of the Father will have a Distinction to it from your current situation. It is the Voice of Solution not burden. Today align yourself to hear. Strengthen your heart by knowing that you are not alone. He Exists with you, and through alignment there will be comfort brought to your heart.
